Why Does the EB1004BAK Not Display on a 17" LCD?
The best frequency for viewing on an LCD monitor is 60 Hz. (1280 X 1024). Please check the frequency of EB1004BAK and LCD monitor are matched. The easiest way to adjust the frequency is to connect EB1004BAK to a TV and then enter the "Submenu" and enter the VGA setting. Just set VGA to 60Hz.
What is the Largest Hard Drive Capacity the EB1004BAK Can Support?
EB1004 BAK DVR system is able to support hard disks with capacities of 250GB. You can install 2 hard disks in the EB1004 BAK DVR system.
What is the Difference Between EACH Mode and Quad Mode When Recording?
You can view the full screen or the quad screen of the surveillance video recording if the video is recorded in EACH mode. When it is recorded in QUAD mode, the video recording can only be played in QUAD screen.
What Kind of Monitor Can I Connect to the EB1004BAK DVR?
EB1004 BAK DVR system can be connected to TV monitors, LCD monitors, and CRT monitors.
Will the EB1004BAK DVR system initiate the recording task automatically after a black out?
The DVR system will launch the recording task automatically after a black out.
I forgot to press the recording button after the system configuration. Will EB1004BAK start the surveillance recording automatically?
As you finish the system configuration, the DVR system initializes the recording after it detects a 10-second idleness.

You can utilize the DVR playback application to save the desired video files as AVI files or BMP/JPEG files. Please refer to the operation manual file in the CD for advanced instructions.
How can I play the video recording by PC?
Please install the DVR playback application under windows operation systems. You need to install the application to play the recording. Please refer to the operation manual file in the CD for advanced instructions.
How can I use a USB cable to play the recording data by PC?
If you need to play the recording data in the primary hard disk inside the DVR system, press STOP button to stop the recording task first. Press to enter the MAIN MENU. Connect the USB cable. You need to install the DVR playback application first and then you can play the recording files in HDD B by the application. Please exit the DVR playback application and then remove the USB cable. Return to the MAIN MENU and continue the surveillance task.
What can I do if the DVR formats the hard disks automatically when it reboots?
This may be a compatibility problem. It is recommended to adopt Seagate ST380021A 80GB and Seagate ST340016A 40GB in the EB1004BAK DVR system. Avoid rebooting the system frequently. Frequent rebooting of the system may cause damage to the DVR hardware.
I have installed my hard disk into EB1004BAK. I want it to record continuously several hours a day and the other time just record motion. How can I get the expected recording time?
The recording time depends on many factors like bright/dark and so on. The recording time calculator could provide the referrence recording time under your condition setting on EB1004BAK.
What brands of hard drives do you recommend using with the EB1004BAK Standalone series?
Currently, our testing has shown that Western Digital hard drives do not work efficiently with the EB1004BAK Standalones. We recommend using Maxtor, Seagate, or Hitachi hard drives only.
