Woman Gets Robbed in Shopping Mall with no Cameras
Robbed woman furious mall has no security cameras
OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma woman heads to Penn Square Mall for the first time and says she'll never go back. Michelle Bronson went to the mall Wednesday to pick up some perfume. Instead, she says her wallet was pick-pocketed right out of her purse. She says they found it a bit later on the floor empty. Her $1,300 paycheck gone.
Bronson is angry because the mall told her they don't have any security cameras.
She says money can be replaced, but some things cannot.
"What happens when kids get hurt there? What happens when some woman walking out of the mall gets raped? They don't care about us. All they want us to do is come there and spend some money."
Penn Square Mall Manager, Audrie Thompson tells us they are working with Oklahoma City Police on this case.
Thompson issued this statement, "We are committed to providing a safe shopping environment for our shoppers and mall employees."
Bronson says she was told that many of the individual stores have cameras and that security will look at those to see if they see anything suspicious.
